ScanWeld

Bringing remote welding into practice.
remote weldingRemote welding is a new high velocity concept which allows laser welding to reach an even higher productivity level.

New beam positioning can obtain speeds up to 20 m/s [60 feet/s].
This decreases especially the time between two welds.

This also qualifies the process: Remote welding is especially interesting in case of more than one weld per product, especially when repositioning between welds consumes much time.

Interesting for sheet welding is, beside the general advantages of laser welding, the unequalled gain in productivity.
When comparing to spotwelding, the non-productive time between the welds decreases to almost zero, because of the lack of time consuming spot welder repositioning.
In this way the production time of a spotwelded part with 6 spots can be reduced from e.g. a minute to less than 7 seconds.
